I altered the length of each of the straps with a piece of 2in brown elastic. The original button loops are still intact, but I removed the buttons and I seem to have misplaced them. I also snipped one side of all the shirring except the very top one. The elastic is still in the channels and still attached on one side of the dress. It does come with the waist ties, though one of the buttons fell off, but I still have it! Bought secondhand, worn twice. Tights:http://lolibrary.org/apparel/sweet-cream-house-tights
