I'm not sure what you mean by the upper arm of the sleeve, but the arm hole where the sleeve is attached to the shirt is about 8.75" flat lay.

Thank for your reply. I don't think thats quite the measurement i am looking for. I am looking width of the sleeve where your bicep would be when you wear the shirt. Does that make sense?
