The dress has a small dot along the edge of the bodice that I originally mistook for part of the design but think may actually be a very small stain. There are a few small pills consistent with being washed.

This dress has been in a home with dogs and a woodstove and a home with cats. The smoke smell came out easily when I washed the dress in a mesh bag, inside out, on cold gentle with white vinegar added to the wash. (I am confident the smoke smell is fully removed - this was stored at my mother's house for several months, and she would have given me a lengthy lecture about smoking if she'd caught even a whiff of smoke still on it.)
This
comes from a non-smoking home with cats. Although I will lint roll it
one more time before shipping, I can't guarantee I won't miss some
hairs.
