Would recommend these to someone with smaller calfs because when I tried one on, it got damaged. Stretched, and some threads came loose (see 3rd and 4th pictures) while I could get them on I highly recommend that you only buy these if you have thin legs.
The damage is only on one sock, other than that they're a bit dirty but as far as I can tell it's nothing you couldn't easily get out in the wash. No stains or holes.

I have 3 cats and a lizard, so beware if you're highly sensitive to cat fur. I try my best to not have much on any items but in a house like this it's inevitable. It's unlikely that you'll encounter any scales, but possible. I'm pretty sure they're hypoallergenic.
