RESERVED FOR DEB Old School Gothic Moitie 2005 Shirring OP (some damages+ skirt tiers altered?)
This is Moitie's 2005 Shirring OP, which I bought secondhand from a friend, who had bought it secondhand elsewhere. It's still in decent condition but has seen some wear, and has several small damages to it, and is likely altered.
Damages:
Photo 6: Ends of some of the velvet ribbons (especially the sleeves) are frayed. It came to me like this.
Photo 7: Sheer white paint (?) stain on the skirt in the front. It came to me with this stain I personally find it's not super noticeable when worn, at least not to me. However, it's very much there, as you can see from the picture.
Photos 8&9: The boning of the corset lacing is bending inwards a bit, but I think it's a bit inevitable with this dress and the age. The bigger issue is the left (right when worn) inner lace channel tore and the end of the plastic boning came peeking out. I pushed it back in and glued the boning shut, but the lace is still torn. Not noticeable when worn, but it may do this again. I cannot guarantee my glue will hold. Also the velvet ribbon for the lacing is comically long for some reason.
EDIT: also as someone pointed out to me after I listed this, my dress appears to have the third tier of the skirt removed. I had not even noticed this, but it's likely someone altered it. I had never noticed, as the skirt and lining are both very smooth and finished on the bottom, so whoever did it had done it so well it had never even occurred to me. So this dress is shorter than the original.
So overall, a dress that has been well loved! It's very nice and airy for the summer, sheer and delicate but not at all cheap feeling. The shirring stretches quite a bit too. I would recommend it for someone shorter, as it's clearly a dress designed for a smaller/shorter frame height-wise, but the shirring is very soft and forgiving to accommodate many sizes.
