The material on the white shoe is a smooth, thick sort of vinyl that feels a bit like patent. It is quite durable feeling. It doesn't scuff easily at all, any "scuffs" it acquires are likely rubber sole transfers and come off easily with a gentle rub from an eraser.
The platform is a dense foam that resembles wood and is very light and easy to walk on.
The straps are adjustable and also have snap closures for easy donning and doffing.
