I see that there is lacing on the back. Do you think it would have enough clearance for a 77cm waist?

I think so. It sits above the waist about around mid ribs on me. I could get it to stretch to about 78cm. The lengths from straps to end of of bodice is 38cm so that's where I would recommend measuring to see if the 78cm circumference is going to work.
