My bust is 44in and waist is 36in and it fits alright- when the crossing detachable straps are on it's very tight and high on my body but when the crossing straps are off I can tug it down and the fit is a lot more flattering- it's a halter jsk with a lot of smocking.

I'm going to tentatively say yes, IF you wear it with the crossing straps not attached; being able to tug the bodice lower should let it work.
