Crystal Dream Carnival Tiered jsk in Blue Colorway
⚠️ Warning: I may come off as highly critical and I do not mean anything against the previous seller. I only want to make those going forward aware of what they are purchasing before they do so! I strive for transparency.
Condition: ⚠️ (Heavily altered by an amateur sewist) ⚠️
The fabric of the dress is in beautiful condition, the gold glimmers nicely. It's no wonder why this dress is so coveted.
I am selling due to fit (I tried it on, but have no worn it out) and it's construction leaves a bit to be desired. To me, if this is your dream dress, I'd consider getting it professionally altered in order to restore it, if you care about finished hems within the inside of the garment. I do, so this dress is too much of a project for me and it's not my preferred colorway for the effort.
It was altered by an amatuer sewist (previous owner).
The length has remained unchanged, so you'll want an underskirt with this due to short length of 89 cm.
Modifications, Missing Parts and Damage ⚠️
Please note there is no shirring, lacing, or waist ties.
The waist ties were used in order to alter the bust size for their alterations.The inside has not been properly finished, there are raw hems exposed on the inside of the bodice, where the skirt and bodice meet.
The dress has been seam ripped, then reassembled without finished the hems, so there are raw hems from the lining and the dress itself. I also noted the bodice is a bit too high on the left side (when worn the right side).
This item had been heavily modified by their previous owner to accommodate a 120 cm bust. To achieve this, they used the waist ties. There is no shirring to make the garment smaller or waist ties, so the fit wasn't the best on me. The length is unaltered and I found it short for myself (5'2").
The overskirt has not been modified and unlike the stock photo it only reaches the sides of the dress. I believe it could be altered minimally to work, however I'm not invested in this jsk to do it myself.
I did noticed the gathering of the skirt fabric into the bodice on the right side is a bit higher than the left.
Minor Repair by me
I also repaired a gap in the dress by hand next to the zipper which is not visible. This was on the back, to the right of the zipper at the waist, the dress was beginning to come apart and I hadn't worn it yet.. Prior there was black thread used to keep it together. I used matching thread to keep the dress from opening.
Please note, I too am an amateur at sewing and this garment may need the hand of a professional in the future.
