Hi, weird question, but the velvet — when you smooth it downwards does the pile go against the grain? I have no idea how to word this sorry, but what I mean is like does the fuzz go the right direction?

It's not a weird question! Brushing it up is going with the grain and brushing it down is going against the grain.
