This bag is damaged from storage. The fate of this bag is typical for AP bags produced in this era, so I'll save the whole spiel about polyurethane. I am the first owner. During its lifetime, I admired it and wore it maybe twice (I know! So sad), then stored it for a number of years. Although I will try to enumerate the damages in text, please see all the photos to make your judgment:
Bottom of the bag: OK. There is one pocket in the center where it looks like the leatherette is about to tear (like a bubble), but no tear has happened yet.
Front of the bag: The bear face and bow is fine, not even marred with indentations. The ears though... peeling at the tops, obvious weakness of the leatherette, some color fading in the center of the right ear (from the POV of the wearer); on that ear is also a tiny blue fleck, probably from a pen. Second to the straps, the bear ears make up the worst part of the damages.
Sides of the bag: Definite peeling, weakness. Symmetrical failure of leatherette on either side exactly where the bag would experience the most amount of "folding".
Edges of the bag: Decent, not too terrible. In two areas, old glue from the manufacturer spilling out a little bit on some edges (a dark yellow/orange color) made worse with age, not noticeable when worn.
Back of the bag: Four areas / clusters of indentation, all semi-circular in shape and vary from 1cm - 4cm
Straps of the bag: The most damaged element. Just look at the photos... horrible. I would just throw the straps away if I were you -- hook new ones that are reliable.
Zipper: Fine, no stains or scars. The heart is not peeling or weak, but it does look a bit old.
Inside: Great. In excellent condition, no stains etc.
