I am the second owner and these have been worn once. There is mild staining primarily along the backside of the heel, as well as piling. Please see the photographs for reference. The stains are exterior and come from the inside of shoes, not interior from anything gross / feet-related :) I have obviously washed these socks after every use & after storage, but I have not tried to lighten the stains myself. Apart from this, there is no other defect.
Please understand, stains are hard to photograph accurately in quality/color/depth. What is acceptable staining from one person to another is also subjective. Do not bid on these OTKs if you are uncomfortable wearing secondhand socks. Thank you!
NB: These are the emblem version of Melty Chocolate. They belong in the MC line even though you've probably seen the non-emblem version (with actual chocolates and the AP letters) of the OTKs pop up more frequently :)
