I am the first owner and these have been worn 2-3 times. There is minor staining around the soles / heel, as is typical for AP socks with this fabric blend; the stains are exterior and come from the inside of shoes, not interior from anything gross / feet-related :) I have obviously washed these socks after every use & after storage, but I have not tried to lighten the stains myself. Apart from the minor staining, there is no other defect.
Please understand, stains are hard to photograph accurately in quality/color/depth especially when they are mild. What is acceptable staining from one person to another is also subjective. Do not bid on these OTKs if you are uncomfortable wearing secondhand socks. Thank you!
