It saddens me to put this old school set up for sale after working so hard to piece it together, but it just isn't my style.
This set is amazing, from 2010, by none other than Metamorphose. I finally managed to put the two pieces together from across the globe. If you're from the EU, my loss may be your gain, as two customs and two shipping fees have already been paid for by yours truly.
Description
The color of the print is closer to stock photos. It is a vibrant pink with saturated burgundy stripes, with yellow lining to the stripes and a Meta monogram motif.
The vest has back shirring and has a bit of give compared to Lolibrary's measurements. My amateur measurements are:
94 cm / 37 in max bust
76 cm / 29 in max waist
The skirt has a built in petti (which is deflated, due to the piece being 12 years old) and its waist measurement is smaller than the vest. I wouldn't suggest it to anyone with a waist bigger than 73-74 cm / 28 in.
The set has an overall feeling of wear, little to no pilling and no stains as far as I could see. There's a faint yellow hue in the back of the skirt, but I couldn't seem to picture it. It takes close inspection and a very peculiar lighting to catch it, as it's definitely not noticeable when worn.
Alteration
I had the skirt professionally altered to fit a bigger waist. The seamstress followed my instructions, altering its waistband with little to no impact on the integrity of the piece.
- the back shirring was removed, relaxing the fabric (see the picture where I'm pointing at the old span of shirring with my hand)
- a tiny piece of extra fabric and 2 clip buttons were added to the closing. The original hook and eye was kept as is (see picture)
The resulting waist measurement is ever so slightly bigger than the intended one for Meta. It went from a maximum of 68 cm (26 in) to a maximum of 73 cm (28 in).
It can easily be restored to its original form, by adding elastic in the back and removing the extra fabric.
